GUIDELINES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

PURPOSE:

The purpose of this document is to provide the guidelines for members and visitors to engage in playful expression through model aircraft building and flying and offering a reminder of one’s responsibilities to adhere to.

 

GUIDELINES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Fig Tree Aero Modellers (FTAM) has been granted user rights for the BGGS sports fields at Fig Tree Pocket in accordance with the terms and conditions of the hire agreement (copy of which is available on the web site) – the stipulations are that we are to vacate the premises should the fields be let to another party for their use at the same time; we are to remain considerate of the community who use the fields for dog-walking and for the neighbouring community and council stipulations pertaining to noise etc.

  2. In order to fly you are required to hold a current membership with FTAM as well as provide evidence of insurance through AMAS or the MAAA

  3. As a visitor to FTAM you are required to be accompanied by a member at all times whilst flying.

  4. All activities with regards to RC equipment (transmitters) and the aircraft themselves are to be operated in accordance with the requirements of Civil Aviation Safety Authority 101 (CASA). **2.4GHz radio systems only**

  5. Flying on the day –

 

  • Please adhere to best practises of maintaining a minimum safety zone of 30m from the general public, buildings, car parks etc. No flying over houses under any circumstances.

  • Store aircraft and gear in the pits area.

  • Move aircraft out of pits area (and face the aircraft away from others) to run-up and test pre-flight.

  • Pilots to remain in the ‘pilot bay’ whilst flying

  • FPV pilots to maintain a spotter with them during flying

  • Adhere to council noise regulations – no noise before 8:00am
